SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co.’s Galaxy Z Flip3 foldable smartphone has been listed on Best Inventions 2021 by U.S. magazine Time.
The magazine has selected this year’s best inventions from some 20 different fields. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip3 was the only smartphone to be included in the consumer electronics section.
“Manufacturers have been trying to merge the functionality of smartphones with the portability of a ‘00s-era flip phone – with results that were middling at best. But with the Galaxy Z Flip3, Samsung finally seems to have nailed it,” Time said.
“The Z Flip is as compact as devices from two decades ago,” the magazine continued.
“You get a vibrant 6.7-in. display, with another screen on the front cover so you can easily read messages or screen calls when it’s closed.”
“It is the first mainstream phone with a foldable display that’s priced below US$1,000, putting it in direct competition with high-end iPhone models,” Time concluded.
