LONDON, September 2 (Korea Bizwire) – Global financial trading company TradeNext have launched their Search For An Asian Football Star initiative to discover talented young Asian footballers in the UK.

“The UK is home to more than three million people of South Asian origin.”

Search For An Asian Football Star (SFAAFS) will offer more than 500 young Asian footballers the chance to showcase their skills in FREE, hour-long training sessions, led by FA-qualified coaches.

After a series of training and skills sessions at Powerleague centres, the most promising 32 players will be invited to compete for the ultimate prize – a week at the ‘TradeNext FootballCV Academy’: www.footballcv.com

The winner’s week will include a training session at St George’s Park, the Football Association’s state-of-the-art Home of Football Learning.

TradeNext Chief Executive Mohsin Jameel said: “Our Search For An Asian Football Star initiative represents TradeNext’s corporate goals and objectives, which is to support aspiring talent in the British Asian community.

“As a community they have contributed highly to various sectors. However, in the field of football, there remains a distance. TradeNext aims to bridge this gap and showcase future talent.”

Press Release_banner_01 The SFAAFS training sessions kick off at Wembley Powerleague, Royal Route, London HA9 0WS, on Saturday September 13 – starting at 10.00am.

The first 25 players to register will also win a FREE tour of the iconic Wembley Stadium, the home of English football, following their training session.

Search For An Asian Football Star is open to boys and girls of all abilities. Sessions will be divided into four age groups: Under 12s, Under 14s, Under 16s and Under 18s.

Other confirmed SFAAFS training dates at Powerleague centres are:

  • Saturday October 11, Kick Off – 10am, Birmingham Powerleague, B6 7TG
  • Saturday October 18, Kick Off – midday, London Docklands Powerleague, E14 9GL
  • Saturday October 25, Kick Off – 10am, Manchester Central Powerleague, M12 4JD

The date and venue for the fifth and final training session will be released shortly.
