Seogwipo Swimming Festival Returns After 3-year Hiatus

SEOGWIPO, Jan. 2 (Korea Bizwire)The 24th Seogwipo Winter Sea International Swimming Festival was held on Sunday at Jungmun Saekdal Beach in the city of Seogwipo on Jeju Island.

The festival returned after three-year hiatus resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hundreds of residents, tourists and foreigners gathered together on the sandy beach and jumped into the sea after doing some light warm-up exercises.

The participants left the anxieties of the past year behind and made wishes for the new year, while enjoying swimming in the frigid winter sea.

Dozens of people clothed in swimsuits jumped into the sea and splashed about in the water, while preserving their pleasant memories as photos in a scene reminiscent of the hot summer season.
