SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul Asan Medical Center has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven integrated medical platform designed to streamline healthcare access for foreign patients, allowing them to manage their medical journey from initial registration to remote consultation through a single interface.
The hospital announced on Monday that the new platform enables international patients to upload descriptions of their symptoms, self-captured images and videos of affected areas, medical reports from their local doctors, and diagnostic data such as CT and MRI scans directly onto the hospital’s website.
Equipped with AI-driven translation capabilities, the system automatically converts medical data into eight languages, including English, Russian, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Mongolian. The uploaded information is then seamlessly integrated with the hospital’s medical records system, ensuring efficient data management.
Patients can use the platform to receive telemedicine consultations and review treatment plans before visiting the hospital. Even after completing treatment and returning home, they can continue to receive follow-up care and remote consultations to monitor their recovery.
Over the past five years, Seoul Asan Medical Center has conducted 866 remote consultations for patients from 57 countries. In 2024 alone, the hospital treated 19,482 international patients, reflecting the growing demand for advanced medical services in South Korea.
With this AI-powered initiative, Seoul Asan Medical Center aims to strengthen its position as a leading global medical destination while enhancing accessibility and convenience for international patients.
