SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Tuesday that it will introduce street light charging stations and bollard charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in residential neighborhoods.
A street light charging station is a quick charger that combines closed-circuit television, an LCD display and a street lamp. A bollard charger is a standard charging station that only takes up 0.06 square meters of space.
Both chargers can be installed in small, narrow spaces, ensuring better accessibility in residential areas closely packed with korean-style villas, row houses and old apartment buildings, the city expects.
The city government plans to install a total of six street light chargers and four bollard chargers by the end of this year, with officials aiming to set up more than 100 chargers by 2025.
