SEOUL, Sept. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – With world class water supply technology, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will join an effort to develop water purification plants in Central Java of Indonesia and will support Korean small- and mid-sized companies’ advancement into overseas water supply business.
On September 16, the city government announced that it signed an agreement for the expansion of the exchange on the water supply business with its Indonesian counterparts including RBUMD, SPJT and PDAB.
The Central Java water treatment facilities development project will cost 135 billion won (US$130 million) and the Seoul city government will support the project by offering technical advice, dispatch of training-related officials and helping private companies join the project.
The city government is now conducting the feasibility study at the request of Korean water supply-related companies since last May and will join the project by forming a consortium with private companies.
In the past, the city government supported local companies’ advancement into the overseas water supply projects in Ghana, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Trinidad Tobago and Papua New Guinea.
