SEOUL, June 25 (Korea Bizwire) – The number of Seoul residents aged more than 100 reached almost 5,000 this year. According to Seoul’s statistics from resident registration, as of April, there were 4,840 centenarians in Seoul, up 9.4 percent year on year. Among them, 3,592 or 74 percent were women.
The total population of Seoul and the number of adolescents in Seoul are both decreasing, but the number of superaged people more than 100 keeps on increasing, according the city. As of 2014, the total population of Seoul was 10,103,233, a decrease of 209,312 from 2010.
