SEOUL, July 30 (Korea Bizwire) — Amidst a widespread heat advisory across the country, Seoulites are making the most of their summer by enjoying the Seoul Summer Beach 2023, which commenced last week. The event’s concept revolves around offering an urban vacation spot where city dwellers can beat the heat without venturing too far.
Numerous inflatable playgrounds, aptly named “air bounces,” have been set up in lush green spaces, including major parks and squares throughout the city. Notably, Gwanghwamun Square has been transformed into a refreshing oasis with floor fountains and exhilarating water slides, all generously supplied with cool streams of water.
The “Seoul Summer Beach 2023″ festivity at Gwanghwamun Square began last Friday and will continue until the 13th of next month. Participants can look forward to an impressive 8-meter-long water slide and a 1.2-meter-deep swimming pool, providing a scenic view with the magnificent Gwanghwamun Gate as a backdrop.
To make this event possible, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and four autonomous districts, namely Jung, Gwangjin, Dongjak and Gangseo wards, have collaborated in using green spaces, parks, and squares creatively.
These areas have been transformed into temporary water playgrounds, featuring not only inflatable playgrounds but also a wide array of engaging water play programs, including water guns and ice fossil excavation.
