SEOUL, Aug. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul’s Gangnam District is offering hotel guestrooms to low-income seniors to fend off the summer heat until the end of this month.
The district joined hands with four hotels in the area to provide 40 guestrooms to local residents in need.
Once an extreme heat warning is issued, the hotels will offer the guestrooms for free for one or two nights.
Those who are over 65 years old, recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security System, the secondary poor, and senior recipients of special daycare services are eligible for this offer.
The district will also offer transportation for seniors that have mobility issues.
