SEOUL, Jul. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Shinsegae Group, a retail giant in South Korea, said Tuesday it will open its third shopping mall in the northern outskirts of Seoul next month, offering a variety of options for shopping, leisure and culinary experiences.
Starfield Goyang, a two-story building with four underground floors covering an area spanning 365,000 square meters in the city of the same name, will open Aug. 24, the retailer said.
The complex will be equipped with dozens of brand shops, along with over 100 restaurants, as well as the group’s warehouse-style supermarket E-Mart Traders and other places for leisure activities, including the water park Aquafield.
A weeklong pre-open event will be held beginning Aug. 17, the retailer said.
Shinsegae said it expects the new mall to create 3,000 jobs.
The retail giant opened its first all-in-one shopping complex Starfield Hanam, the country’s largest shopping theme park, on the southeastern outskirts of Seoul in September last year.
In October, it signed a contract with the operator of the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in southern Seoul to run another shopping complex inside.
