SEOUL, May 19 (Korea Bizwire) — SK C&C, an IT service unit of South Korean conglomerate SK Group, said Thursday it had signed a deal with Recycle Ledger, a local venture firm, to operate a recycling resource tracking service.
The partnership aims to support Recycle Ledger’s waste cooking oil data tracking service using SK C&C’s blockchain platform, ChainZ.
Recycle Ledger is currently working on establishing a tracking management system for waste cooking oil, which can be utilized as aircraft biofuel. This topic has gained significant attention in the market.
Recycle Ledger plans to assist waste cooking oil exporters in obtaining sustainability certification through its blockchain-based service.
The service records and manages the entire process of waste cooking oil supply to biofuel producers.
To achieve this goal, SK C&C will provide ChainZ in an application programming interface (API) format, allowing Recycle Ledger to offer its service more efficiently and securely.
In addition, it aims to create an environment that facilitates the collection of information throughout the data lifecycle, including creation, provision, reception, analysis, and deletion.
This will be achieved through the data tracking API, which will also enable the tracking of data flow.
