According to the data compiled by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, the broadband LTE-A service rolled out by SK Telecom held a download speed of 116.9 megabits per second (Mbps), hovering above the 113.2 Mbps held by KT Corp. and LG Uplus Corp.
LG Uplus, however, posted the fastest upload speed in the broadband LTE-A service at 37.7 Mbps, while SK and KT held 21.4 Mbps.
The broadband LTE-A, one of latest network technologies, is said to be three times faster than the traditional LTE network.
The figures also hovered above the average of 77.8 Mbps and 5.5 Mbps download speed posted by broadband LTE and third-generation network services rolled out by the three South Korean mobile carriers in 2014, the data also showed.
All three players posted robust grades in phone-call success rates, with the figures reaching 99.9 percent in populated areas and 96.1 percent in isolated regions, including mountains and islands, the data also showed.
