SEOUL, April 11 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea’s largest car-sharing and mobility service provider SOCAR Inc. said Monday that the use of its Commuter Pass subscriptions, designed for office workers, grew robustly by about 50 percent from November last year to March of this year.

The Commuter Pass is a program that provides users with access to SOCAR vehicles for up to 16 hours on weekdays, between 5 p.m. and 11 a.m., for a fixed monthly fee that covers rental costs, insurance, and parking expenses.

According to the company, as more businesses shift from remote work to on-site work, the number of people commuting with SOCAR vehicles is increasing.

The popular location for Commuter Pass subscribers to use its vehicles is the Gangnam District in Seoul, with a share of 13 percent, followed by the Bundang District of Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, at 9 percent, and Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul, at 7 percent.

The most popular vehicle types among subscribers are subcompact SUVs, such as the Seltos, Kona, Tivoli, and XM3, followed by compact sedans, such as the Avante and K3, and compact SUVs, such as the Tucson and Sportage.
