SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s Cyber Operations Command has won first place at CyberNet 2025, an international cyber warfare competition hosted by the Netherlands, marking its fourth consecutive victory, the Defense Ministry said Sunday.
The competition, held from October 28 to 29 in Marnewaard, was organized by the Dutch Cyber Command and has been hosted annually since 2018. It brings together NATO member states and key partner nations to test real-time cyberattack and defense operations.
This year, eight countries—including Germany, Denmark, Japan, and South Korea—participated. The South Korean team’s repeat victory underscores its growing reputation as one of the world’s top performers in cybersecurity and cyber defense.
Maj. Gen. Cho Won-hee, commander of the Cyber Operations Command, said the achievement reaffirms that South Korea’s cyber warfare capabilities are “at a world-class level.”
He added that the military will continue to strengthen its cyber defense capacity through initiatives such as White Hat 2025—a national cyber defense competition and conference involving the government, private sector, and military—and through joint cyber alliance training with the United States.
