BUSAN, Jul. 13 (Korea Bizwire) – The South Korean Air Force announced on July 11 that its aerobatic demonstration team, the Black Eagles, will conduct a commemorative flight over Busan’s Haeundae district on July 13.

The aerial display is in honor of the 45th Scientific Assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR).

The 30-minute performance is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on July 13. The Black Eagles will take off from Gimhae International Airport and fly over the Buk and Geumjeong districts before reaching the skies above Haeundae.

In preparation for the main event, a practice run was planned for 6 p.m. on July 11. This rehearsal was originally set for 10:30 a.m. but was postponed to avoid disrupting a nationwide academic assessment taking place at that time.

Busan city officials anticipate significant aircraft noise across the city during both the practice and main flights. They plan to send text message alerts to residents to minimize surprise and inconvenience.

The sudden appearance of fighter jets over Haeundae’s skyline, dotted with high-rise buildings, has historically led to a flurry of concerned calls from startled citizens.

Last July, a similar event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice generated over 100 noise complaints from residents in the Gwangalli area of Suyeong district.
