SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Korea Bizwire) – At 9:10 p.m. on November 11, at Jamsil Station on Seoul Subway Line No. 2, station employees on patrol discovered a homeless person sleeping inside the station. They attempted to wake him and escort him out of the station, but the homeless person responded with threats and physically attacked them.
In that critical moment, a civilian dressed as Spider-Man appeared and grasped the hand of the homeless person. Despite the homeless person shouting, “Take your hands off me!” and attempting to assault the station employees, Spider-Man intervened, urging him to “Calm down.”
Footage capturing the incident shows Spider-Man seemingly dancing with the elderly homeless person as he restrained him, eliciting laughter from onlookers. The police, responding to a report from the station employees, arrived and forcibly removed the homeless person from the station.
An official from Seoul Metro stated that after the homeless person was expelled, the citizen dressed as Spider-Man vanished without uttering a word. The identity of Spider-Man could not be determined.
Starting on Saturday night, social media and online communities were flooded with photos and comments reporting Spider-Man’s appearance at Jamsil station.
At 1:30 a.m. that day, an individual claiming to be Spider-Man, on X (formerly Twitter), revealed, “I used to go to Jamsil on weekends wearing a Spider-Man costume, aiming to create positive memories for children by taking photos with them.”
He added, “Upon learning that it would take about ten minutes for the police to arrive, I intervened to prevent the situation from escalating into a larger conflict.”
