SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Korea Bizwire) – SsangYong Motor Co. said Thursday that it has added some luxury features to its flagship G4 Rexton sport utility vehicle (SUV) to revive demand after posting a 22 percent on-year drop in domestic sales last month.
The SUV-focused carmaker launched the limited edition of the ‘G4 Rexton Eurasia’ model in the domestic market to absorb a growing demand for recreational vehicles, the company said in a statement.
The G4 Rexton Eurasia version sells at a “reasonable” 37 million won (US$33,000) but carries premium features such as multi-advanced suspension, 20-inch sputtering wheel, 7-inch supervision cluster and roof rack, it said.
The G4 Rexton, launched in May in the domestic market, currently sells at prices between 34 million won and 45 million won, depending on options.
In the January-October period, SsangYong Motor sold a total of 117,395 vehicles, down 6.4 percent from 125,411 units a year earlier.
