SEOUL, March 23 (Korea Bizwire) – Ssangyong Motor Co., owned by India’s auto giant Mahindra & Mahindra, said Wednesday that it has received over 2,200 preorders for the Tivoli Air since its debut earlier this month.
The Tivoli Air is a long-body version of its popular Tivoli crossover sport utility vehicle, which led its domestic and overseas sales throughout last year.
Preorders have been received since March 2, while the delivery of those contracted vehicles started from March 8.
The Tivoli Air is designed to target customers seeking larger luggage room along with what it claims are the “uncompromised” SUV features of its Tivoli crossover.
This month alone, the Tivoli and the Tivoli Air saw their combined sales reach about 5,500 units, the company said, indicating that there has been no “sales intervention” between the two models with similar features and designs.
Ssangyong Motor aims to sell 20,000 units of the Tivoli Air this year. The annual global sales target for the whole Tivoli lineup was set at 95,000 units.’
