SEJONG, Feb. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – Ssangyong Motor Co., South Korea’s smallest carmaker, is voluntarily recalling 2,637 Korando C sports utility vehicles for problems in seat belt anchors, the transportation ministry said Monday.
The model’s seat belt system was found to have a problem in a belt anchorage strength test conducted by the carmaker in accordance with the government’s guidelines, said the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The problem has been detected in 2,637 Korando C SUVs produced between March 30, 2015 and May 26, 2015.
Free repair services will be available from Monday at Ssangyong service centers throughout the country.
The ministry also said Ford Sales and Service Korea, the local importer and distributor of U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co., is recalling 652 Lincoln MKX SUVs produced between July 20, 2006 and Sept. 22, 2008 for a defect in their fuel tanks.’
