SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — A majority of Starbucks customers have purchased cold drinks this year with the recent cold weather having little impact on the trend, the local unit of the U.S. coffee giant said Thursday.
Starbucks Coffee Korea reported a 76-percent increase in cold drink sales this year, up by 12 percent from last year.
Ice citron mint tea sales soared by 66 percent last month amid plunging outdoor temperatures. Ice grape fruit honey black tea sales also jumped by more than 10 percent during the same period.
Aurora camomile relaxer, a drink that has reached 10 million cups in accumulated sales, was most popular among younger customers in their 20s.
Of beverage sales from November last year to February of this year, 60 percent were cold drinks. Cold drinks were popular even during the cold winter season.
