SEOUL, Feb. 28 (Korea Bizwire) – Starbucks Korea has announced a temporary halt in the sales of Perrier, a popular brand of sparkling water, starting this month due to emerging quality control issues reported by the brand’s overseas manufacturer.
Perrier, a sparkling water product produced in France, holds the top market share in the global sparkling water industry. However, recent reports from international media outlets have raised concerns.
These reports claim that Nestlé, the global food company that produces Perrier among other products, has allegedly used water treatment methods in France that violate local regulations.
In response to these allegations, Starbucks Korea has taken a proactive approach by stopping the sale of Perrier products from the 1st of this month. The company stated that it prioritizes customer safety and has decided to halt sales until the safety of Perrier can be fully assured.
Furthermore, Starbucks Korea is currently re-verifying the Perrier stock that has already been imported, ensuring that all products meet the necessary safety and quality standards before they are made available to customers again.
