SEOUL, Nov. 20 (Korea Bizwire)K-pop boy group Stray Kids has claimed its fourth No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard’s main albums chart with its latest EP, “Rock-Star.”

The eight-track album debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart for this week with 224,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States, Billboard said in a chart preview Sunday (U.S. time). The latest chart will be released Tuesday.

This became the band’s fourth No. 1 on the chart, following “Oddinary” and “Maxident” last year and “5-Star” earlier this year.

Apart from Stray Kids, BTS is the only other K-pop group to have achieved four or more No. 1s on the Billboard 200 chart, doing so six times.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S., measured by equivalent album units, comprising physical album sales and other digital sales records.

Of the 224,000 equivalent album units earned, 213,000 came from physical album sales.

“All four of Stray Kids’ chart entries have debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making them the first act to see their first four chart entries debut at No. 1 since Alicia Keys in 2001-07,” Billboard said.

“With nearly 20 months separating Stray Kids’ four No. 1 albums, the act has the fastest accumulation of four No. 1s since Taylor Swift notched four leaders in just under 16 months between August of 2020 and November of 2021,” it added.

The first release from the group in five months, ”Rock-Star” portrays the group’s newfound free and rebellious spirit, reminiscent of rock stars.

The new EP carries eight tracks, including “Lalalala,” “Megaverse,” “Comflex” and “Leave.”

The K-pop supergroup was nominated for Top Global K-Pop Artist and Top K-Pop Album at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards and is also set to perform at the awards ceremony Sunday (U.S. time).
