SUWON, Jun. 5 (Korea Bizwire)The city of Suwon, in conjunction with the Suwon Climate Change Education Center and Suwon Climate Action Network, plans to begin a ‘heat map’ project for citizens.

Participants will measure temperatures in various locations in Suwon from July 13 to August 31 and collect information involving heat waves and tropical nights to create a heat map.

Participants will be given thermometers which will be used to measure temperatures at preferred locations every Saturday at 2 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The Suwon Climate Change Education Center will collect the temperature data to create a heat map, which will be made accessible via the center’s official website.

Participants who complete the project will be invited to a reporting session in September to present their ideas on climate change.

“The project will provide citizens with the opportunity to participate in a volunteer project for tackling climate change,” said a city representative.

“We will continue to design various policies that citizens can participate in and experience.”
