SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Korea Bizwire) — The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation jointly announced on Thursday the establishment of a tactile experience zone at the National Palace Museum of Korea.
This zone is a barrier-free space where both handicapped and non-handicapped people can enjoy digital cultural heritage in tactile and sound-based ways.
Visitors can touch and hear about 250 different kinds of digital tactile contents through tactile displays. Also displayed are tactile art brochures for 15 types of cultural heritages that have similar textures to the originals.
Within the zone, there is a new experience space where the pictures of cultural heritages drawn by visitors are realized in a digital braille format. The visitor guide kiosk is also mounted with a pad that can sense information in a tactile manner.
