SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — The winner of an international design contest conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to transform the central waterfront space of the Seoul International District (SID) into a leisure and cultural space has been unveiled.
The winning design “weaves” together the entire area around the confluence of the Tancheon stream and Han River, breaking down surrounding areas and boundaries and forming a space for walking and leisure.
To restore the ecological environment, the river’s waterways will be restored and water purification channels will be set up to purify the surface waters of the surrounding areas and then sent to the Han River.
Furthermore, the Tancheon pedestrian bridge linking Gangnam and Songpa districts is also designed as a bundle bridge with an ascending and descending walkways.
