SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Tesla announced Tuesday that it will formally launch its long-awaited Cybertruck in South Korea, underscoring growing demand for high-end electric vehicles in one of the world’s most tech-savvy markets.

Two trims will be offered: the all-wheel-drive (AWD) model, with an estimated range of 520 kilometers, and the Cyberbeast, with a slightly shorter range of 496 kilometers. The figures are pending final government certification.

Despite weighing nearly 3.9 tons, the Cyberbeast’s tri-motor configuration allows it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 209 km/h. The AWD version, powered by dual motors, reaches 180 km/h.

The Cybertruck will also be the first Tesla in Korea equipped with vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, enabling external power supply. Adaptive air suspension adjusts damping within milliseconds to enhance ride comfort. Other features include ultra-strong reinforced glass, a towing capacity of nearly five tons, more than 3,400 liters of cargo space, and a steer-by-wire system that enables sharper handling with less than a full wheel turn.

Its angular stainless steel exoskeleton, combined with full-width front and rear light bars, gives the pickup a futuristic silhouette. The interior continues the geometric aesthetic, with angular designs on the steering wheel, console, and cup holders.

Since its global debut in 2019, the Cybertruck has generated strong pre-order interest in South Korea, according to Tesla Korea. The company said first deliveries are expected after late November.

“Cybertruck is more than a pickup,” the company said in a statement. “It represents a premium leisure EV that has drawn strong enthusiasm from Korean customers.”
