SEOUL, March 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Travel bag sales are on the rise since the government announced a measure on March 11 to exempt vaccinated entrants from abroad from the obligatory one-week self-isolation starting March 21.
E-Mart Inc., a discount store chain, reported that sales of travel suitcases and bags jumped by 42.4 percent for the period between March 12-20 compared to the same period last year.
Golf bag sales soared by 191.3 percent over the same period, with the start of the golf season and rising demand for golf trips to Southeast Asian countries.
Online shopping mall 11Street reported that hard suitcase sales jumped by 225 percent between March 11 and 20 compared to the same period last year.
Travel pouch sales also increased by 40 percent while overseas plane ticket sales were up 430 percent.
