SEOUL, Nov. 18 (Korea Bizwire)Nah Young-seok, the TV producer from tvN, famous for his hit shows ‘Grandpa over Flowers’ and ‘Three Meals a Day’, gave a special lecture about content businesses with a focus on expansion into the Chinese market.

Nah emphasized that for content to be popular in China, it has to be a hit in Korea first.

“Instead of analyzing the tastes of Chinese people and making a show that meets their needs, it has become clear that shows popular with the Korean public will become global hits,” said Nah, noting that the content business has become similar to the fashion industry.

Nah also predicted that the current rush of Chinese content businesses scouting Korean TV producers and showering them with money will only last about three years. “If Chinese staff work with the scouted Korean staff for a year or two, they will show great progress and step up to our level.”

In addition, the producer talked about his next projects. “I’m doing shows related to traveling or food. But I’m not planning to do anything else. I’ll keep doing what I like and what I’m good at, and my goal is to do that for a long time.”
