ULSAN, May 29 (Korea Bizwire)The 2015 Ulsan Whale Festival has opened on May 28 at Jangsaengpo in Ulsan, and will run until May 31 under the theme of ‘Mother Whales’ Love.’

A unique performance about a fictional story of a whale and a girl, delivered by a Media Facade technique, caught the attention of visitors on opening day, as well as choir performances and musical performances.

About 30 programs will be simultaneously presented at the Whale Culture Town and Whale Museum in Jangsaengpo.

Art installations will welcome visitors to Jangsaengpo stadium, while a multitude of performing groups based in Ulsan will give whale-related performances in front of the museum.

In front of the Whale Research Institute, finger-food booths will be installed.

The highlight of the festival might be a theme park made to look like an old Korean town that was once famous for its whale fishery.

Jangsaengpo Old Town will be a welcome opportunity to feel what the once prosperous whale town was like in the 1960s and 70s in Korea.

Visitors can also walk into a real-life sized whale sculpture and experience what it is like to be swallowed by a whale.

Visitors with children can enjoy a toy-whale fishing ground for kids and a cafe with drinks and whale-related performances.

A whale sculpture park will be a lovely place to relax after taking in some of the events and performances.
