SEOUL, Feb. 5 (Korea Bizwire) – The video for Girls’ Generation’s hit single “Gee” surpassed 200 million views on YouTube on Monday.

According to its agency S.M. Entertainment, the title track off the band’s first EP released in 2009 passed the threshold at about 12 a.m.

The achievement came nearly five years after the video became the first by a Korean idol group to exceed the 100 million mark.

Including “Gee,” the group now has two videos that have garnered 200 million views and four with more than 100 million views on YouTube.

Debuting with nine original members, Girls’ Generation became an eight-member group after Jessica departed in 2014 to pursue a solo career.
