MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — Vital Images, Inc. (“Vital”), announces enhancements in image management to its industry-leading VitreaView(R) enterprise viewer with VioStream(TM) software. Today, many healthcare organizations are challenged to unify access to imaging content, often spread across a number of departmental PACS and distributed locations. Vital is now offering unique building blocks, which will enable full image access through electronic health records (EHRs).

“Healthcare is rapidly transforming and Vital navigates these changes by developing solutions to make our customers more efficient, informed and strategic,” said Jim Litterer, General Manager at Vital. “Vital solves the most challenging hurdles through unique image management and analytics components. VioStream is one exciting example of how we’re working to break through the traditional silos of data and enable unified and ubiquitous image access.”

With the explosion of digital information, healthcare organizations struggle to find efficient ways to manage and access imaging data. Vital is developing a suite of flexible solutions tailored to work within customers’ specific IT infrastructures, image access and data management goals, at reduced capital expenditure. VioStream is a server-side software product enabling a Web-based medical imaging viewer to connect to a variety of existing DICOM archives (PACS), convert DICOM data to Web-friendly formats, and view images at a substantially reduced time to first image. Traditional enterprise viewers require users to wait for a full query/retrieve to begin interacting with a study. VioStream eliminates obstacles toward accessing full imaging history of a patient, providing a longitudinal view of a patient’s healthcare journey.

Vital’s leadership in providing clinically meaningful, multi-modality advanced visualization and universal viewing solutions remains a strong foundation for its growth. The expansion into next generation data management components enables Vital to solve our customers’ evolving needs.
