SEOUL, April 9 (Korea Bizwire) – If you crave the sharp taste of fermented Hongeo or skate fish, your best bet is to head to the Yeongsanpo Hongeo Festival, which will be held in Naju from April 17 to 19. The annual festival, which started in 2004, introduces the 600 years of history of fermented Hongeo, and gives participants the chance to enjoy different Hongeo dishes.
The festival is comprised of various events related to Hongeo such as a best Hongeo competition, a Hongeo slicing competition, a Hongeo auction and Hongeo kite flying. Fermented Hongeo has a lot of ammonia and a powerful taste, but it is high in protein and low in fat.
