SEOUL, March 13 (Korea Bizwire) — More than 100,000 5G base stations have been built across South Korea.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, there were 108,897 5G base stations in the country as of the end of February. The figure more than tripled from 35,851 base stations when 5G was commercialized in April of last year.
The increased number of base stations means that more users have easier access to 5G service wherever they are.
Meanwhile, as of the end of January, 4.96 million citizens had subscribed to 5G plans.
The conditions for using 5G are also gradually improving, with cheaper pricing systems being released in quick succession, according to the government.
