SEOUL, Feb. 2 (Korea Bizwire)YouTube Shorts garner the majority of views on the video platform, a survey showed Wednesday.

Collab Korea, a South Korean unit of Los Angeles-based multi channel network Collab, conducted a viewership analysis of some 1,500 YouTube channels, which showed that 84 percent of all views were from mobile devices.

The results reflect that vertical content, such as Youtube Shorts, was easier to access from mobile devices.

Roughly 70 percent of inflows to YouTube channels came through YouTube Shorts, followed by browsing and YouTube channels.

The data also showed that 88.2 percent of all views occurred on YouTube Shorts, followed by YouTube videos and live streaming videos.

Following the spread of YouTube Shorts, the average viewing time per video dropped from 2 minutes to 1 minute. In contrast, the overall viewing time throughout all YouTube channels more than doubled.

“This shows that each viewer has seen a 60-second Short more than 10 times, instead of watching a single, 10-minute video,” Collab Korea said.
