SEOUL, Jan. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — A new trend is sweeping over winter beverages.
Instant coffees are now replacing other warm beverages in leading winter sales.
CU, a convenience store chain operated by BGF Retail Co., reported that between December and mid-January, sales of soy milk, tea and other warm beverages have increased by less than 10 percent over the previous year.
Instant coffee, on the other hand, jumped by 34.5 percent in sales.
Ice coffee sales have also accounted for 15 percent of total sales thanks to an increasing number of consumers preferring cold drinks in the winter.
