SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — SK Telecom Co. has launched a new mobility service for persons with severe disabilities to help them enjoy safer and cheaper commutes to work.
SK Telecom joined hands with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (KEAD), the city of Seongnam and mobility startup Modoo Shuttle on Tuesday to promote mobility rights and employment welfare of the disabled.
Starting this month, the company will begin a pilot test for the ‘Good-hearted Shuttle Mobility’ project that offers door-to-door commuting service to 70 disabled persons working at Seongnam’s Vocational Rehabilitation Facility.
The company plans to offer its newest ICT solution, including GPS-based location trackers to ensure safety and convenience, while offering financial support to pay for service charges.
The KEAD and Seongnam will be tasked with service operations and institutional support, while Modoo Shuttle will be in charge of running the means of transportation.
