SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Kia Corp.’s fourth-generation Carnival minivan continues to dominate South Korean market 12 months after its release.
The country’s second-biggest carmaker sold 46,294 all-new Carnivals in the first half of this year, topping the sales charts in the minivan market.
Ever since its release in August last year, rising demand for family vehicles and camping cars drove up sales for the Kia minivan, with the Carnival becoming the best-selling car in its category for 10 consecutive months.
Among 77,436 RVs sold in the country between January and July, 69 percent of them were Kia Carnivals.
The Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association reported that 228 Toyota Sienna vans and one Honda minivan were sold over the same period. The accumulated sales of both cars between January and July stood at a mere 1,032 cars.
