SEOUL, Sept. 27(Korea Bizwire) – With a brand-new commercial vehicle model, Hyundai Motor is eying to hit the European market.
Hyundai Motor revealed its strategic large van model H350 at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hanover, Germany, on September 24, aiming to advance into the European commercial vehicle market. Hyundai’s H350 is sized between 12-seater Starex and County Bus with a semi-bonnet arrangement.
The semi-bonnet (hood) style light commercial vehicles are sold approximately 900,000 units all across the world. Especially in Europe, that class is being utilized in various purposes such as cargo vans and mini buses for tourism, so major car makers are competing with each other in the market.
The H350 is equipped with a 2.5-liter diesel engine with output of 170 horsepower and by employing more high-tensile steel plates it shows stable driving performance. Also, with the highest level of cargo availability in the class, it is expected to satisfy the needs of customers seeking for the light cargo vans.
Hyundai plans to market the H350 in major European countries including Germany, Italy and France in the first half of next year. Vehicles will be complete knock-down (CKD) units that will be assembled by Hyundai’s Turkish partner Karsan Pazarlama.
