SEOUL, Nov. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, a cultural foundation affiliated with the Seoul city government, has introduced the ‘Art Ttaereungyi’, a unique take on Seoul’s ubiquitous public bicycles, in collaboration with Porsche Korea.
The motif on the bicycle’s frame and fork was inspired by Korean traditional patchwork wrapping cloth. The wheels have been painted in fluorescent yellow for increased visibility at night.
The Art Ttaereungyi bicycle was made based on the winning design blueprint from Porsche Dream Art Ttaereungyi, a design competition co-hosted by Seoul city government and Porsche Korea.
The design also reflected insights from Roland Heiler, managing director at Studio F. A. Porsche, and professor Ahn Byung-hak from Hongik University.
A total of 365 Art Ttareunggis will be deployed throughout the city to symbolize 365 days of everyday vitality.
