SEOUL, May 21 (Korea Bizwire) —HSI(Humane Society International) Korea, an animal protection organization, is organizing a captivating photo exhibition called “Beyond Prejudice” at the Metro Art Museum in Seoul from May 28 to June 1. The exhibition will showcase the transformation and bright smiles of 17 dogs rescued by HSI Korea from dog farms.
French photographer Sophie Gamand, known for her ability to convey powerful messages through her art, captured the before-and-after photos. The exhibition will also shed light on the harsh reality of dog farms and feature photographs of Juliet, a golden retriever adopted by actor Daniel Henney.
Admission to the exhibition is free, allowing a wide audience to appreciate the resilience and compassion of these animals.
In addition to the exhibition, HSI Korea has been running the Models For Change campaign since 2015, which helps farmers transition from puppy mills to more humane businesses. As part of this campaign, HSI Korea recently shut down a dog farm in Asan, rescuing around 200 dogs facing slaughter. The farm’s owner, Mr. Yang, agreed to switch to crop farming with the support of HSI.
This marks the 18th dog farm closed by HSI Korea through the campaign, resulting in the rescue of nearly 2,700 dogs to date. The rescued dogs from the Asan farm will be transported to a shelter in the U.S., where they will receive necessary care and go through an adoption process.
