SEOUL, Dec. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean girl group NewJeans will ring in the New Year on U.S. television, joining the star-studded lineup for ABC’s New Year’s Eve show, the group’s agency said Thursday.
The “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” show is a perennial favorite for celebrating New Year’s Eve in the United States. The program kicks off on New Year’s Eve and continues into the early hours of the next day.
Broadcast live from Times Square in New York City, the show features performances by the year’s best in music and airs the iconic countdown event at the square.
NewJeans will be the first K-pop girl group ever to grace the stage.
K-pop acts that have performed at the show are Psy, BTS, J-Hope and Tomorrow X Together.
NewJeans will perform its hit singles “Super Shy” and “ETA” during this year’s show.
