SEOUL, Aug. 28 (Korea Bizwire) Samsung Electronics plans to unveil its latest lineup of Bespoke AI appliances at IFA 2025 in Berlin next month, pitching an upgraded vision of the “AI Home” that the company says will turn futuristic living into an everyday reality.

Under the theme “AI Home – Future Living, Now,” Samsung will present how its connected ecosystem of appliances and mobile devices, powered by SmartThings, can anticipate user needs and respond seamlessly to household routines. The concept is designed to illustrate that advanced AI living should be accessible not to a few but to all, the company said Thursday.

Samsung has a long history of marrying computing power with home appliances, from an air conditioner equipped with a microcomputer chip in 1980 to the “Neuro-Fuzzy” washing machine in 1991 that gauged laundry soil levels on its own. More recently, its Family Hub refrigerator, first launched in 2016 with a 21.5-inch screen and interior cameras, redefined the kitchen as a digital command center.

At IFA, Samsung is expected to spotlight AI-powered refrigerators, washing machines and other Bespoke models tailored for European consumers, alongside mobile innovations tied to its Galaxy AI ecosystem. The company also aims to highlight its vision of “Ambient AI” — technology that quietly embeds itself into daily life, adjusting intelligently to users’ needs.

The showcase will trace Samsung’s trajectory from its “talking refrigerator” of the 1980s to its Bixby AI voice assistant and current voice ID features, which recognize individual speakers to deliver personalized responses. Screens embedded in appliances, once an experiment, are now positioned as central hubs for monitoring and controlling all connected devices.

“With Bespoke AI appliances, we want to elevate everyday convenience and value for users,” said Moon Jong-seung, executive vice president of Samsung’s Digital Appliances Business. “Our goal is to make ‘Samsung equals AI appliances’ a defining equation.”
