SEOUL, Oct. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — The husband of actress Song Sun-mi was killed by a man hired by his relative angry over a family inheritance dispute, prosecutors said Thursday.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office announced the results of its investigation into the murder of a 44-year-old art director, identified only by his last name Koh. He was stabbed to death in the neck in a law firm in Seoul in August.
Prosecutors indicted Koh’s cousin, a Korean-Japanese surnamed Kwak, on charges of instigation of murder, and the assailant, known by his family name Cho, on murder charges.
They found that Kwak incited Cho to kill his cousin and promised him 2 billion won (US$1.78 million) in payout.
Kwak and Koh were in a legal battle over their grandfather’s Seoul-based estate worth around 68 billion won. Koh had filed a complaint against Kwak, claiming Kwak and two others had forged documents to change holder’s name for some of the assets.
