ULSAN, May 6 (Korea Bizwire) — In celebration of Children’s Day, the Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency held a special event for the settlement of ‘special contributors’ from Afganistan on Thursday.
The event was held at Hotel Hyundai by Lahan Ulsan in the southeastern city of Ulsan, where 158 special contributors and their families were invited for a family photo.
The Korea Professional Photographers Association’s Ulsan branch plans to use the photos to make special frames and send them back to each family, offering to pay for the 10 million won (US$7,850) cost of the photo shoot.
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. offered to pay for the location, lunch and gifts for the children.
The special contributors from Afghanistan resettled in Ulsan in February.
Among all Afghan contributors who came to the country last August as they fled from the Taliban regime, 40 percent have decided to settle in the city.
