SEOUL, April 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Animal hospitals will now be required to inform pet owners of medical fees in advance, and provide explanations about surgical procedures, blood donations or transfusions.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced Monday that it will amend legislation on veterinarian affairs to generate trustworthy medical environments for pets, and improve the quality of veterinary services.
The amendment requires vets to provide details on surgical procedures, blood transfusions and other major operations to pet owners as well as the medical fees.
Guardians will be able to decide upon treatment after they are provided with thorough explanations.
Operators of animal hospital will now be required to disclose medical fees in booklets and on their websites in advance.
