INCHEON, July 17 (Korea Bizwire) — An annual event to reenact “Operation Chromite,” a U.S.-led operation during the Korean War, will return after 7-year hiatus, the event’s host city said Sunday.
The city of Incheon and the Navy will jointly reproduce the event by mobilizing 29 warships, 23 aircraft, 15 amphibious vehicles, and 3,000 troops in the West Sea on September 15.
As part of the event, a naval ship inspection will be conducted, with participation from foreign vessels, and an air show will be performed by the Air Force’s Black Eagles aerobatic team.
In addition to the reenactment, a street parade is expected to showcase around 1,200 participants, including parade cars, amphibious vehicles, self-propelled artillery, tanks, Korean War veterans, and a military band.
The event had been suspended since 2017.
