SEOUL, Apr. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — A South Korean Army sniper team will participate in an international sniper competition in the United States this month for the first time, the South’s Army said Thursday.
The team of three Army commandos of the 1st Corps and an interpreter will take part in the weeklong 2024 International Sniper Competition to kick off Friday at the U.S. Army’s Maneuver Center of Excellence in Fort Moore, Georgia, according to the South’s Army.
The annual competition, which launched in 2001, will bring together 35 teams from 11 countries, including the United States, Britain and Italy, with South Korea being the only Asian country, it said.
The South Korean team won a sniper competition hosted by the South’s Marine Corps earlier this year.
