SEOUL, March 9 (Korea Bizwire) — As the coronavirus continues to spread, teams from the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) are returning to South Korea following a series of overseas training programs.
Members of the LG Twins baseball team gathered at LG Champion’s Park in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province on Monday for this winter’s third training camp following training at Blacktown in Sydney, Australia, and Okinawa, Japan.
Players from the Samsung Lions decided to ‘commute’ to the training grounds every day since the team’s ballpark fell short of the capacity to accommodate all KBO players, and carrying out training from a hotel in downtown Daegu was a bad idea.
Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, currently the epicenter of the coronavirus, are home to the Samsung Lions.
The Hanwha Eagles and KT Wiz also plan to commute to training every day at Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park and Suwon KT Wiz Park, respectively.
