BUSAN, Aug. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — On Saturday, lifeguards were seen blowing their whistles, guiding beachgoers away from Haeundae Beach in the southeastern port city of Busan.
At the beach, a sign was put up that read “Do not enter.” Tourists had no choice but to watch the sea from afar.
The decision to close the beach was made because a rip current had emerged at the beach.
A rip current is an ocean current that pulls the water back into the ocean.
These types of powerful currents are capable of pulling swimmers towards deeper waters, risking an accident.
