Billboard Praises K-pop Band Beast as Potential Artist of the Year

SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Korea Bizwire)A recent article in Billboard magazine has brought attention to Korean pop band Beast and its music activities in 2014.

In an article titled “Watch Beast Reflect on Exciting 2014, Lessons Learned on 5-Year Anniversary” published on December 9, Billboard said that the band has achieved good results with its tracks including “Good Luck” and “12:30.”

The six-member group has a total of 19 first-place wins from various K-pop music chart programs with the two songs. “The group is anticipated to win big at the awards shows this year, including titles like Artist of the Year and more,” the magazine explained.

Billboard stated that the group’s members are aware of the most important thing in creating and performing: loving what they do.

In an interview with the magazine, Doojoon, one of the members, said, “We cannot thank all our fans enough, who support us and listen to our music. Come to think of it, that is the reason why we are still here…events such as concerts where we can interact with our fans are the most memorable event.”

The K-pop boy band released its new album titled “How about you?” in Japan on November 14, which reached first place on the Japanese Oricon chart. Beast is currently on its “Beautiful Show 2014 – How About You?” concert tour in four major Japanese cities – Nagoya, Kobe, Yokohama and Fukuoka.

Beast debuted in October 2009 in South Korea with its song “Bad Girl.” The boy band consists of six members: Yoon Doo-joon, Jang Hyun-seung, Yong Jun-hyung, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon. In 2011, the group made its debut in Japan with a Japanese version of its “Shock” album.
